Portal to Darkness is an event which features 8 Golden Thread quests, having the players fight the forces of Shadow in the Everdark. It came immediately after the Gathering Light event, and introduced the Eclipse update.
It started in August 8, 2017 and lasted through August 21.
During the event, Shadow Serfs will spawn in the Treasure Isles and Haunted Isles biomes; the Serfs in the Haunted Isles grant Shadowy Schematics when killed. It also introduces the Atoll of Madness biome, the enemies in which can drop 5 event-specific weapon styles: the Void Pounder, Voidcoil Raygun, Chaotic Conk Buster, Void Singer and Fractal Fighting Fork.
It awards the Shadow Sight Helm style partway through the questline, and the Shadowy Schematics dropped from Shadow Serfs can be used to craft Mysterious Portals to access the Atoll of Madness.
