Tomes are special items of equipment used to gain resources through clearing Lairs and Dungeons. There are two types of tomes players can get: Regular Tomes (which are obtained by crafting in the final tier of the Runecrafting Profession and bought from the Shadowy Market using Hearts of Darkness) and Legendary Tomes (which are obtained through certain purchases or packs in the Store, or crafted at the Shadowy Market).
Players at 250 Runecrafting can create regular tomes at a Runecrafting Bench, with a few exceptions (the Eye Encyclopedia and Tentacle Tract, which are bought in the Shadowy Market). Equipping the tome to your character will allow it to reward players for adventuring.
Legendary Tomes are similar to their regular counterparts, however because of the contents of these tomes they can only be filled once a week.
Unless otherwise stated, all common tomes are worth 20 mastery points each and all legendary tomes are worth 100 mastery points each.
Depending on the current Marketplace value, some tomes might be worth more when filled than others. This does not apply to Legendary tomes due to their much greater rewards.
Filling your Tome
For every Lair or Dungeon that is completed, the Tome will gain a small amount of points for the completion of the quest. There are no bonuses when filling tomes in different worlds or levels, but the type of quest completed does change the amount the tome is filled; 1-star quests in 3-star Dungeons fill them the least, 1-star Lairs fill them a moderate amount and 3-star quests in Dungeons fill them the most.
